| First thing I appreciated most about this short-lenght release is the almost relaxed compositional instinct shown. All tracks on this debut CD-R shows no hurry, no sign nor wish to go anywhere, except maybe a little circumnavigation of the surroundings. You may define it digital electronics: simple to write and completely void as an explanation. Luca Bergero, the man behind this project, programs the source sounds in C-sound, to ensure they have nothing to do with things you can hear in reality, and then sequences them and add a little fx's here and there (mostly delay). But the result, all together, is very human. Reminded me a lot of Future Sound of London, with a peculiar taste for microscopic melodies and some glitch paraphernalia scattered all over and smoothed by eq'ing, like some abyssal creature swimming around the ruins of some submerged cities in a faraway future, without nothing particular to do, except existing. And also (but I may completely be wrong here) Ozric Tentacles, downloaded into one single person and a computer, engaged into exposing only the bare bones of compositional dynamics. Good, makes a worthwhile listening in a serene afternoon like this. Comes into a slim-case and a high quality full colour printed sleeve. |
